The Kassel Family was busy, busy, busy today. Andy left the house about 8:30 am for a golf tournament for the University Golf League. He said he didn’t play as well as he would have liked (this is a recurring theme with Andy when it comes to golf), but he still had a great time. He got to play his round of golf with Jeremy and those two always have fun.
The kids and I left the house about 12:30 pm for Kathryn Dothage’s 7th Birthday Party. It’s truly unbelievable that Kathryn is 7! The kids had a blast playing with everyone, eating birthday treats, hunting for skeleton parts, and beating on a pinata. OK, so maybe they enjoyed scooping up the candy from the pinata, but I digress… It was a great birthday party and the kids had tons of fun! Kathryn’s American Girl doll now has lots of accessories, and the kids came home with some great party favors and candy.
The evening ended with the annual VanHove Family Bonfire and Hayride. We got to eat burgers and hot dogs, enjoy a great bonfire, and take the kids on a hayride. John fell asleep on the hayride, but they both still really enjoyed it. The evening ended somewhat early for John and I (about 9:30 pm) as I took him back to the truck and we snuggled under a blanket. He fell asleep almost immediately and I read a book and played some Words With Friends. Andy and Laura wandered back to the truck sometime after 11 pm and we headed for home. We all had a great time and we are already looking forward to next year!
