As soon as Andy returned from Indiana, we packed the truck, picked up the camper, and headed for our first camping trip with the kids. We went to Lake of the Ozarks State Park in the Osage Beach area. We got to our campsite about 6:15 pm. It took us a while to get set up and organized, but our kiddos didn’t care. They were so excited to be camping for the first time. It was probably near 9 pm by the time we ate a great dinner of burgers and hot dogs. While on the playground that was right next to our campsite, the kids met the kids of our camping “neighbors.” There were four kids in that family, and the daughter was just a year older than Laura and the youngest son was just a year older than John. They all became fast friends! This led to us introducing ourselves to the adults of the family and before we knew it, it was about 11 pm and WAAYYYYY past bedtime. It was a truly great start to our trip!
