Andy and I went to the Sigma Chi Scholarship Luncheon for the Xi Xi chapter at the University of Missouri today. The luncheon is given by the Mom’s Club and scholarship and leadership awards totaling over $26,000 were given to a number of the men. It was excellent to see a great program like that, because that particular Chapter has had some issues. Andy helped to restart the chapter after they lost their charter for a number of valid reasons and now he works with them in his role as Grant Praetor. One of the highlights for me was the end when the men (current active chapter and alumni) get together and serenade the women with “The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.” This is quite an experience that just never gets old.
